Ileana Martinez MD, FACP, FASN

Dr. Ileana Martinez was born in El Paso, TX and grew up in Juárez where she obtained her medical doctor degree at the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez. She did her internal medicine training at Texas Tech Health Science Center in El Paso, TX. She moved to San Antonio, TX to do her nephrology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She worked in private practice in San Antonio for 2 and a half years before mocing back to our bordertown. After more than 10 years in private practice, she has recertified in both internal medicine and nephrology. She is lso certified as a hypertension specialist. She is interested in optimizing the care of patients with chronic kidney disease and treating challenging cases of acute renal failure, glomerulonephritis, and difficult to control hypertension.
