Jorge Humberto Serna MD, FACP, FAAP, FASN, FASH

Earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology from Baylor University at Waco, Texas. Subsequently, he earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He proceeded to complete his combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston followed by his Fellowship in Nephrology . He became fellow of the American College of Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Society of Nephrology, and American Society of Hypertension. He is a certified hypertension specialist by the American Society of Hypertension and helps to treat patients with secondary hypertension. He was awarded Texas Super Doctor by his colleagues in the Texas Monthly Magazine in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. He enjoys all aspects of clinical nephrology with emphasis on chronic kidney disease and its complications, diabetic nephropathy, proteinuria, glomerulonephritis, nephrolithiasis and refractory hypertension.
